Fire
welcome new team Inverclyde Phoenix
The
Inverclyde Phoenix joined us today for a joint
practice session, as they prepare for entry
to the league next year. The new team had a
strong traveling support with 18 players, parents
and friends, and looked very impressive, not
only in their eye catching uniforms, but on
the field as well.
Headcoach
Bramwell commented, "Vince (headcoach Gillan)
has done a great job bringing his young team
on and putting together a really tight unit
of players", he continued, "they showed
some real potential today and it would be great
to see them in the regular season next year".

New
youth team launches
The
Fife Fire American Football Club are pleased
to announce that they will be providing their
support, along with the Edinburgh Wolves,
for a new football initiative being set up
in the Forth Valley area. The new Forth Valley
Youth Football team will be aimed at ages
16-19 and be based in Dunfermline at the Duloch
Sports Centre, and aims to take part in the
British league from 2009.
With
Forth Valley Football enjoying support from
two established programmes from either side
of the Forth, the team has a solid foundation,
and gives players from both Edinburgh and
Fife’s flourishing Junior (14-16)
programmes an opportunity to continue their
careers in the sport.
Forth
Valley’s newly appointed Head Coach
Don Edmonston commented: “I’m
very excited to be part of this new venture.
I am lucky enough to have been able to get
to a very high level with the GB Lions and
the Scottish Claymores and now I am excited
to be in a position to help with this fantastic
new venture. With this new team we hope
to give everyone the chance to play football
at a young age and that early start can
help them reach their full potential.”
